christmas, new years and beyond.

What the heck?!? Christmas is over and New Years is coming up quick…how did this happen?? This year has gone by so quickly. This past year has been quite a blessing for Luis and I.

For the first year and half of living back up in Washington Luis did not have a consistent job. I worked at a coffee shop making barely more than minimum wage…we were living with my parents (thank God we had a place to live!!), we didn’t have health insurance, Luis car broke down several times, it just was a rough go around. Though it was really REALLY hard at times, we stayed faithful to what God was asking us to do, gave as much time and resources as we could, and we sacrificed a ton. God provided and continues to provide for us each and every day. We have been blessed with a place that is literally a steal of a deal, Luis got a new car, all our medical bills are paid, we have health insurance now, Luis landed a fantastic job that he enjoys, I am able to stay home with Zoey and watch my niece and nephew as well as work at our church part-time, and we are able to give above and beyond what we could imagine giving. God has truly blessed us.

Just a quick update on Zoey, 2 days before Christmas, she decided to start crawling. Pray for us…she is one busy little girl. In a matter of minutes, she figured out how to climb up the one step we have in our living room, as well as pull her self up to standing…She’ll be walking before we know it!! -_-

Zoey's First Christmas
Zoey’s First Christmas

January 1st I am starting my detox again, just a level up. I did pretty well on the last round of it…but the last week was pretty hard. I really hope I can get through this next one without cheating at all!! My goal is to lose 20 more pounds by June 1st. I gave myself 6 months (starting from last month!) to reach this goal, considering I have a little one. Luis said that if I reach my goal we will take a trip to Hawaii, how’s that for motivation ;). If any one would like to join me in the detox feel free, it is much easier when you have support from someone! Like last time, I’ll be posting my meal plans (though they’ll look very similar to last ones). If you want to check out the detox and what it’s about go here and read my blog post about it.  I also plan on posting some recipes that I’ve made up for the detox throughout the next few weeks (I really need to be better about posting my awesome recipes!).

Until next time.
