And we’re back! Luis, Zoey and I made a trip down to LA to visit family and our friends over Thanksgiving. We had a fantastic time and are so glad the family got to meet Zoey!! We flew out Wednesday morning, Zoey did so great on the plane, and then it was a whirlwind of meeting up with people, eating, and having fun. It’s hard to believe it has been over a year and a half since we moved up North.
So much has happened since then, and I know for Luis’ and I (especially Luis) we miss our family and friends. It was hard for us to move, there were a lot of friendships, triumphs, growth, love, trials, and hurt we left behind. But now, everytime we go back to California, though we have alot of fun and miss everyone so much, we know with out a doubt we did what God wanted us to do. Not everyone agreed with our decesion, and some relationships were fractured because of it, but honestly, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that we did what God told us to do. We don’t know what the future holds and it has definetly been different than what we had planned, but this is where God wants us, regardless of what others think or say.
I wish there was a way to combine the best parts of LA and Seattle together, I’d so live there.
Sometimes when we form our own families, we have to do what is best for your own family. My mother had a saying, “God will close one but will open a better door”. Sometime when things happen to us we do not realize the good that will come out. We just concentrate on the negative part. God makes thing happen for a reason. We just need to open our eyes and heart. At first I was upset that Luis was moving, but then I began to think that God had a plan for him and his new bride. Now that I see Luis is so happy it is worth the sacrafice of not having him close by. Thank you Lizz for making my nephew so happy.
